Rabbi Janet Madden, Ph.D.

Rabbi Janet Madden, PhD, has served as a congregational and community rabbi in the US and Europe. She has extensive training in chaplaincy, with a specialty in palliative care, and has served as both a hospice and hospital rabbi. A Greenfaith Fellow and certified Jewish Spiritual Director who is also trained in Jewish Sacred Chant, she is an experienced teacher, lecturer and a widely-published writer. She takes joy in crafting creative, personal and soulful lifecycle rituals for individuals and families.

RABBI Ira Rosenfeld

Rabbi Ira Rosenfeld brings a unique and refreshing perspective to the rabbinate through positivity and humor, engaging people of all ages from children to seniors. Rabbi Ira is the co-founder of HomeShul, a home-based Jewish educational and experiential program for children, and Or Echad, a warm, inclusive Jewish community in Calabasas. He works with private students and teaches at religious schools and synagogues throughout Southern California. Rabbi Ira officiates for all life cycle events, from birth to end of life, and he does chaplaincy and counseling work for individuals and families. In his first career, Rabbi Ira was a musician, comic and actor. Rabbi Ira has worked as a pulpit rabbi at Historic Hollywood Temple Beth El, Temple Ner Shalom in San Luis Obispo, and Congregation Beth Shalom in Santa Clarita.

RABBI Lisa Bock

Rabbi Lisa Bock is an experienced congregational and community rabbi who has worked extensively with seniors,
bar and bat mitzvah students, and adult education groups.
She conducts Jewish lifecycle events and ceremonies.
She is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist with
The Grief Recovery Institute.

Cantorial soloist carl jacobs

Carl Jacobs completed his Master’s degree with a specialization in Music in Jewish Life in 2016 at the Academy for Jewish Education, California. He works as a cantorial soloist in the Southern California region.

chaplain bonnie leopold

Chaplain Bonnie Leopold is a vested Jewish chaplain, graduated from the Academy for Jewish Religion, California in May 2007 with a Masters in Jewish Studies and Chaplaincy. She has many years experience as an interfaith hospice chaplain, is a Certified Jewish Spiritual Director (Morei Derekh), and has been leading Shabbat Services and holiday celebrations in retirement homes in Los Angeles for over 15 years.

Chaplain Bonnie offers Jewish and Interfaith weddings, baby namings and funeral/memorial services. She facilitates Jewish moral and ethics groups (Mussar), and offers contemplative prayer services and Sound Healing Meditation. She is a Member in Good Standing of the AJR Clergy & Alumni Association, which provides an ethical review component. She is also active in Spiritual Directors International and the National Federation of Spiritual Healing -- Bonnie is a Certified Energy Healer and an ordained interfaith minister.

Rabbi Janet Bieber is both a rabbi and a cantorial soloist.
She offers Ceremonies with Heart -- Interfaith/Alternative Weddings, Baby Namings, Funerals, Conversion, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, counseling and concerts. She was ordained by the Academy for Jewish Religion California.

cantorial soloist mitzi schwarZ

Cantorial Soloist Mitzi Schwarz is a professional musician and recording artist, and a student in the Academy for Jewish Religion, California Chaplaincy School. Mitzi expects to graduate in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Jewish Studies and a Certificate in Jewish Chaplaincy. She serves as cantorial soloist at Congregation Makom Ohr Shalom of Encino, and leads rousing Jewish programming for seniors in many settings.

rabbi joshua horwitz

Rabbi Joshua Horwitz is a chaplain and community rabbi who accompanies his weekday services on guitar. He earned two Clinical Pastoral Education units working as a chaplain intern at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He holds Orthodox rabbinic ordination from Ohr Somayach Tanenbaum College. He is also a former director of education for West Coast NCSY (formerly National Conference of Synagogue Youth) and a director of outreach for the Jewish Student Union.
